I was thinking about how our lives are like movies.

Someone on the outside looking in could see the mishaps, the follies, and know it’s all going to work out in the end and that there will be a beautiful ending despite the “scenes” of our lives and all their content. But for us, the “characters”, we can’t step back and see that.

Think about:

  • The “soundtracks” of our lives: the music that speaks to us or about our circumstances…
  • The “supporting actors”: our family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances…
  • The dramatic climaxes: experiences building in intensity until at last giving way to the revealing of tried but true friendships, self-reflection, self-awareness, overcoming heart wrenching trials and experiencing heartwarming triumphs, expected and unexpected love…

And all these coming together to create an unimaginable outcome resulting in our own realization that everything has not been in vain and all is truly okay.

  1. So what type of movie are you? I think I am an action, adventure with a side of comedy, maybe sometimes a little horror as well when I get into my states of anxiety. The Lord gave me a picture of a car and He said look at the back window and see how it is smaller than the front. I do that because I want you to see less of the past and focus more on what is ahead. You can periodically look in the back to see my faithfulness of the past. Also when you are driving in the dark I light the road so you can see where you are going but rarely do I put the high beams to show you the whole picture, sometimes I do but mainly I leave them off so that you trust me to guide you with the light that is just in front. SO maybe I am a car movie:) Keep the posts coming love reading them.

    • That is a good question. I have never thought about what type of movie I am! I like to think I am a combination of a dramedy (a mixture of a comedy and a drama) and a documentary, A documentary because I like to think documentaries are a reflection on a person’s life journey to-date. And I think I am living a dramedy because I live rather humourously but with seasons of sometimes overwhelming challenges, growth, sadness…

I like that picture of the car, the back window, and the front windshield and the analogy that comes along with it. It is beautiful and relates so well to the life I am living. Thank you for sharing 🙂

Thank you for your encouragement! I am glad you are enjoying my posts! Stay tuned 🙂
